Lana Del Rey attends the 66th Annual Cannes Film Festival!

On 15th May, Lana Del Rey attended the 66th Annual Opening Ceremony of the Cannes Film Festival and Opening Premiere of ‘The Great Gatsby! It was a star studded red carpet and event with the whole cast of The Great Gatsby attending as well as musical star and friend Florence Welch. Lana’s boyfriend, Barrie also attended. It was reported that she sung ‘Young and Beautiful’ at a private party after the event, before flying back to Scotland! Check out the photos from the event below!

Lana Del Rey’s ‘Paradise Tour’ Hits Birmingham, UK

Lana Del Rey made her way to the UK earlier this weekend to perform her first string of UK dates. The first being at the o2 Academy in Birmingham. She performed there twice, both sold out shows! She also spent time meeting fans before the show out the venue. Afterwards, she moved onto the Nice, to attend the Cannes Film Festival today!

Lana Del Rey is on the cover of FASHION Magazine Canada Summer 2013 issue! The magazine is featured 10 special pages of cover story starring Lana which will be avaible on newsstands May 20, 2013. In the magazine you can find a photoshoot by Mark Williams and Sara Kirakaw at Malibu’s Zuma Beach area and a brand new interview. On the inspiration behind her cover look:  “Every shoot I do, I have a theme. I’ve been watching old Spanish films and my new record has a Spanish guitar on it so that actress-signorita vibe so its been on my mind. We always listen to The Eagles “Hotel California” while we get ready.

On women she admires:  “I believe in Amy Winehouse. I know she’s not with us anymore but I believe she was who she was and in that way she got it right. I would say an actress like Lauren Bacall also got it right. She never let anyone [persuade] her to be something she wasn’t. She was strong. She always looked like she knew what she was doing.”

On being called anti-feminist: “I get it. It looks like I’ve chosen a path of submission. But I’m a modern day woman in so many senses. I pay my way and work hard for things but it is my choice that at the end of the day I have a dominant male in my life that is hands-on. Someone who wants what he wants the way I do. I get so tired of trying to have it only my way, it’s nice to have someone else who also has their life and opinions. I have to be so assertive in life that its nice to feel escape through a really passionate romance.”

On her romance with Scottish rocker Barrie-James O’Neill: “He’s on tour and opens for me. We sing some Nancy Sinatra and Lee Hazelwood duets together. I’ve been seeing him for a year and a half and he’s even more of a meticulous, devout artist than I am. He can’t keep his hands off the piano, ever. Whenever I’m not writing he always asks, ‘why aren’t you writing?’ We kick each others asses. We give each other input every night.”

On her musical philosophy: “Einstein said ‘your imagination is more important than intelligence,’ and I have a very, very big imagination. I love to live in my internal world and will never stop seeking influences and visions for my art.

Lana Del Rey’s ‘Paradise Tour’ in Rome And Milan, Italy

Lana Del Rey’s last two shows took place in Italy, she performed on May 6th in Rome for 10,000 people at the Palalottomatica Arena and on May 7th in Milan for a total of 12,000 people at the Alcatraz Arena. Lana Del Rey’s Paradise Update (Paris, Luxembourg, Geneva, Italy and Monaco)

We apologise for not keeping the website up-to-date with the latest news on the tour. I’ve been really busy. I’ve been able to update the gallery in my free time, and constantly the twitter page. But the website takes a lot longer to process and create. This may may be tacky, but I’m putting all the shows missed onto this page with just links to the photos and I’ve made Youtube Playlists of the videos. An extra thing for this is that ‘Young and Beautiful’ has been added to the setlist, and she seems to performing it on a regular basis now. Furthermore, she announced another Paradise date for July 7th to be held in Turkey! Thanks for the cooparation. Lana Del Rey stopped off in Paris last night for her 2 night-stay at the Olympia Hall! Back stage she and manager Ben was awarded with a plaque for ‘Born To Die’ going 4x Platinum in France!
